Mahmoud Berjawi

Mahmoud Berjawi (born 1966, Beirut, Lebanon; originally from Hounine, South Lebanon) is a Lebanese artist whose work bridges expressive and realistic traditions in painting. From a young age, he revealed a natural inclination for drawing, recreating the beloved characters of his childhood, such as Grendizer and Sindbad, in his own distinctive style.
Recognizing his talent, his father encouraged him to pursue formal training at the studio of artist Haidar Hammoui in Hamra, Beirut, where he studied for two years. Berjawi later continued his artistic education at the Lebanese University – Faculty of Fine Arts in Raouché, graduating with a Diploma in Fine Arts. There, he studied under prominent Lebanese masters including Hassan Jouni and Rafic Charaf, whose influence deepened his understanding of both academic technique and personal expression.
Since then, Berjawi has committed his career to the practice of painting and fine arts. Working independently from his studio in Beirut, he produces works that range from private commissions to pieces exhibited in solo and group shows. His practice reflects a versatile approach, spanning expressive and realistic compositions, while always maintaining a personal signature rooted in his lifelong devotion to art.
Berjawi’s artistic journey continues to evolve, balancing the traditions of Lebanese fine art with his own explorations of form, emotion, and storytelling on canvas.
